Position Summary
As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing all components of commercial trailers. This includes mechanical systems, structural repairs, and electrical components to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailer components including brakes, suspension, lights, wiring, doors, and flooring
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed for structural repairs
- Replace and repair air lines, axles, hubs, and landing gear
- Ensure trailers meet safety and DOT standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic (preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of trailer components and systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
